Don't go to Fiesch unless you can't get anywhere else. The skiing is so limited and to get between the resorts can require a lot of poling. You need to be careful that you don't ski too low as one of our groups did and had to pole for 20 mins to get back up to a height. Overal the runs were well maintained but there just wasn't enough of them and to get away from the three interconnected resorts is a chore. Also the ski pass didn't cover the train - madness. There weren't many queues and we went in the half term holiday - no surprise really.

Fiesch is een gezellig dorp met vele restaurants en flink wat winkels. Het Aletchgebied (Fiescheralp,Bettmeralp en Riederalp) is een heerlijk zonnig skigebied van ongeveer 100km. Voor kinderen en beginners ideaal. Zeer goede skischolen voor kinderen. Ook de meer gevorderde skier kan hier prima terecht, alleen het maken van skitochten is er niet bij. Weinig zwarte pistes. Alleen Bettmerhorn (tunnel) en de Eggishorn is enigzins zwart. Kom hier reeds 10 jaar met veel plezier.

Skiresort profile

Situated in southern Switzerland just beyond the town of Brig is this delightful resort, still awaiting discovery. The skiing area is located close to the the Aletsch Glacier which begins its journey from the Aletschhorn, Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger mountains. Fiesch is no further to drive than either Zermatt or Saas Fee and has a wonderland of skiing terrain to be enjoyed. The resort has a cable car link to Kuhboden (2212m) and chair lifts up towards Eisenlucke at 2722m. There is a further cable car link to Eggishorn (2926m) with some excellent red pistes linking off the top black run. At the top of the chair lift there are blue and red pistes which link across to Bettmeralp where there is a gondola link to Bettmerhorn (2643m) and some really great and exhilarating red runs either linking back over to Fiescheralp or back down to the resort of Bettmeralp.
