A top ski resort. Plenty to do if the snow isn't forthcoming and endless opportunity for fun when it is (there was a metre of powder when I was there and that was on piste!) The snow, at first, always seemed good, (lookout for avalanches from the Wetterhorn across the valley). Kleine Scheidegg is very good for warming drinks in teepee etc and superb views of the ...

Rate Zermatt

Summer and Winter in Zermatt is magical, always plenty going on, best skiing in the world, best facilities to get up the mountains, ski to Cervinia if you like pasta. Perhaps I am biased being an annual visitor. Maybe I shouldn't praise Zermatt like this, the consequence being, it might get crowded. ...

The ski area at Hafjell has expanded over the past few years, and with the addition of a gondola, there are a good number of varied runs for all ski levels. There are also more family and nursery runs and the childcare is excellent. This is definitely the place to introduce your young family to skis (or boards). ...

I find it sort of amazing the amount of praise heaped on St. Anton. I basically found it to be a very bland and small town convincing itself it is something special, with some special prices. The mountain is average to above average but nothing outstanding. If you want exclusive, go to Zermatt or St.Moritz. If you really want to ride/ski go to Whistler or Vail or ...

Had my best skiing holiday ever, during the first week of February 2008. It was our first time to visit Zell am Zee, and we were very impressed. It's a beautiful area, great town, loads of restaurants and bars, plenty of shopping and facilities, and skiing was great. A lot of the easier blue and red runs are at the top of the mountain, where you can pick and choose ...
