We just had our second visit to Flaine in three years 15 - 22nd March. Once again we had brilliant conditions -- lots of snow. This time we stayed in an apartment in the lower section of the resort right next to the piste. Flaine center definitely lacks style but somehow the austere buildings do fit in with the natural shape of the bowl. As for the views up in the ...

The slopes are divided into 5 non-connected areas; one has to take a bus or a train to get from one to another. Three of these areas are small and can be easily done in a half-day each; only two main areas are worth staying longer time: Jakobshorn and Parsenn. Runs are mostly blue and red, suitable for a beginner/intermediate level. Very few black runs - an ...

One word: great! The skiing accomodations are great. They have everything from slopes above tree level, looking at huge masses of snow and mountains, to slopes based on roads, going through the trees downhill. It's also pretty big and nearly everything is connected, so you never have to take a bus to go from that village or slope to this village or slope and back. ...

In the last week of January 2008, I spent a week at the Chalet Paradis in Arc 2000 with my girlfriend. We booked last minute with Ski World, and had a great time. I have previously holidayed in Tignes, Val d'Isere and Flaine in France, and I think the terrain on offer in Les Arcs is at least equal to all those. We certainly didn't miss the link to La Plagne (though ...
