I was in Bad Hofgastein, not Bad Gastein, and it's a different kettle of fish altogether... You have access to the same skiing areas as in Gastein, but you have a smaller village, with easier access to restaurants etc. On the flip side, there's very little apres ski to talk of, and very few bars. Not that I/we were looking for a party but it would have been nice to ...

Lovely town located near the Swiss Border , you actually ski half the time in France and half the time in Switzerland . It had'nt snowed for a while but the pistes were still good Great resort for beginners and intermediates , the most challenging run is "the Wall" which is steep with really big moguls . Accomodation was good and the apres livley , especially the ...

A nice family resort with wide pistes and few trees. Lots of easy off-piste available between runs and serious backcountry skiers can go off the back of the mountain toward Lenzerheide: a linking lift is under development. Good for a long weekend, but not much more. The drive up there from Chur is Switchback Hell, take the train if possible. Lots of flat, poorly ...

Fantastic week skiing, plenty of snow and the pistes were very well cared for. Stayed at the Edelwiss which is a small family run hotel - would not advise staying here if you want to party! They don't like people returning late. The Pavillion is great for Apres-Ski as soon as you get off the mountain but the Londoner still has the best atmosphere. ...

Spent a week in Zermatt with 2 other experienced skiers and 3 beginners. Everybody had a great time. Beginners did lessons with Summit ski school, they were very professional. I thought the ski safari was amazing and is totally worth attempting. Attempted it twice in the week but only completed once. The black run from Schwarzee to Furi and the red run from Rathorn ...
