Dec 2007 2nd week: Ischgl off-piste skiing rocks and is now on my list of top 2 ski stations in Europe - 5 continuous days of 1-3ft consistent pow. Freshies nearly every run...500m tree lines to carving GS turns in 2ft of powder down classic 1000m big mountain open terrain. And, though usually not a hindrance for accessing the goods, unbelievably NO hiking for our ...

I've skied Megeve 4 times now and am pleased to say will be there again in mid Feb. I have never been disappointed with the resort facilities or the pistes. All ages and abilities are catered for on the slopes. Can be busy in the half term week but outside of this the slopes are yours to enjoy. The views are incredible and because it's quite a low resort the snow is ...

Val is an impressive place with a huge ski area (easily comparable to the Three Valleys) when considered with Tignes. It also has a pretty town centre not dominated by concrete monoliths. Generally it's an expensive resort - expect to pay E10 on the mountain for spag bol, E5 for a beer ! The runs are (generally) NOT for beginners. Their blues are more like reds and ...

One of the best for us. Our party of 6 (mainly intermediate level) arrived at the resort the day after 90cm of snow had fallen (13/1/08 to 20/1/08). The area itself was great for us: - pistes, so quiet Monday to Friday and I mean quiet, well groomed, mainly red of varied terrain and enough in the 3 valleys (small) to keep you entertained. Only downside was to move ...

There's some good skiing at Flims - in the right conditions. It's a relatively low altitude which means that late season visits - like mine last year - will not get the best of it and runs to the valley will be extremely slushy. There are also too many T-bars. That said, the long black run off the back of the little glacier at the top of the resort is superb, and ...
