Saas is an odd ski area in that it is very contained, very high, and very thin. The height can be very difficult for new skiiers as the altitude causes tiredness and breathlessness. It also takes a while to get to the top. However if you can put up with that you will have some excellent runs to play on. Due to be glacial the lifts high up are mostly t-bars and they ...

Don't go to Fiesch unless you can't get anywhere else. The skiing is so limited and to get between the resorts can require a lot of poling. You need to be careful that you don't ski too low as one of our groups did and had to pole for 20 mins to get back up to a height. Overal the runs were well maintained but there just wasn't enough of them and to get away from the ...

I can't praise this area enough. It is my favourite pleace to ski. Skiing in the foothills of the Eiger can't be beaten and skiing the Lauberhorn World Cup run is always a special moment. The pistes are varied - from steep blacks (One is called Oh My God) to beautiful blues that run through a winter wonderland. There isn't any skiing in Wegan as such, it is merely a ...

I was a learner so didn't see all the pistes but my friends thought the whole hochzillertal area was great. The piste were wide and well maintained. The only downside was the queue to get up in the first place. I am going backthere in Feb 2007.I hope they have improved that aspect. ...

This is an excellent resort and we have skied here for many years. The village is very pleasant and the Hotel Scesaplana is one of the best we have ever stayed in. There's a real variation of ski slopes to chose from as there are three valleys to ski in and some are quite trying. It's also good for beginners, excellent Ski School. ...
