As a seasoned skier, i have visited some fantastic resorts over the years, but there is no where quite like mayrhofen for hospitality. the main ski area for mayrhofen is the penken, which can be reached by gondala from mayrhofen centre (a five minute walk in ski gear from both the kramerwirt and the appartments of uli spiess). the ski area is great for both beginners ...

Adelboden is a good choice for anyone looking for an unspoiled, idyllic swiss village. the town has old wooden chalets lining the main street and a spectacular backdrop of 3000 metre high alps, dominated locally by the wildstrubel mountauin. famous resorts like gstaad and wengen are nearby. the ski area is extensive at 1130 km and linked to the neighbouring village ...

Quiet village with excellent access to the larger Portes du Soleil region. 1 Gondola from the village. Can not ski to the village but can ski to a bus terminal and a 5 minute ride. New sports center is a good addition. Lower elevation can make early season skiing questionable. Village is in a valley so not a lot of sunlight. Easy access from Geneva. ...

8 of us have just spent a fantastic week at the Chalet Lac de Vonnes in Chatel. The chalet was perfect, as was the region. Chatel is a wonderful town, and although not huge, there are enough restaurants and bars to keep most groups entertained. Plenty of excellent skiing in Linga, Pre la Joux and Avoriaz, and some good runs over in Super Chatel & Morgins. We didnt ...
