The resort of alpe d huez has one of the most extensive ski lift systems in europe, skiing to your doorstep isn an option. its virtually the only think you can do. the slopes are mostly south facing and youll find that if you go towards the end of february / beginning of march, the weather is usually fantastic. there are many challenging runs including the famous ...

Spent the week of 16th to 23rd December in Cervinia. We drove there and had a somewhat quaint (in a sixties sort of way) apartment in the Theodule Block next door to the Petit Palais, very convenient for the lifts to Plan Maison. Weather was brilliant, and sking superb, we skied pretty much everything, including lots on the Swiss side - nothing ever closed by wind. ...

Forget about ski industry, concrete buildings, skiing queue, and the like. We are talking about doing 2100m *** EACH TIME (1450 -> 3550 in one go). Dream about a station with as many people coming in the whole season as in one single day at La Plagne. This is a different world. This is about skiing in the wild. This IS about free-riding... ...

Went here january 2002. much smaller then we expected and not as pretty either (though of course this is relative as all austria is pretty). we stayed in the gotthard hotel (4*) and thought this was excellent, room, food, service, boot room etc and not far from lifts. the skiing here is very good and even i (a timid intermediate) managed to ski the circular route via ...

Megève has to be one of the best kept secrets around and I would highly recommend a trip there during the coming season for all the family. Megève is about 1 hrs drive from Geneva International Airport. The skiing is super and caters for all levels from beginner to expert, and even in bad weather you can still ski as there are the trees all around. This place is like ...
