Flaine is a very concrete resort and we were initially a bit disappointed following previous years in the quite different les deux alpes. however we soon grew to really like the place and are now looking to return next year. the good points were: no vehicles, ski to the lifts/hotel, great easy slopes in front of the hotel for the kids/beginners, several ways up the ...

Wow, what a mind blowing vacation filled with high alpine glacier riding. I'm accustomed to snowboarding at Whistler, B.C., Canada, and generally feel lucky to have the privelege. But after hitting Hintertux, and the other surrounding hills, I've come to realize that Austria has some of, if not the finest terrain in the world. The people were warm and welcoming, the ...

Together with Vars it offers a great variety of pistes, and nice off-piste slopes. The snow conditions were quite OK (50-120cms), the temperatures were just around 0 celsius. The connections among the pistes are praising as well. Risoul is quite small, but very pleasant. You can ski to the door of most apartments (a great advantage after a days hard skiing!!). Apres ...

Went to Serre Chevalier a few years back. Really enjoyed as it offers a large number of runs that cater for the intermediate. Advanced skiers will find the lack of steep runs disappointing. However it is a great place to learn to ski. The area around Chantlemerle a great place with lots of interconnecting runs. Elsewhere on the mountain make sure that you plan to get ...

Firstly, we were very lucky to have a big dump of snow on the day we arrived which obviously set up the conditions perfectly for the week. The scenery is awesome and the extent of the runs available is massive - it would be very easy to ski a different area each day of a 6 day holiday. Apart from a couple of areas the majority of runs are very wide blues and reds ...
